Old engines, but I may have dropped on a good condition pair at the right price. I believe they are pretty much a straight drop in for my pair. I can have them fully checked over before installing.
Except for the usual lack of pistons, any thoughts on these as a spare pair. I expect they smoke woodbines as well.

Should get an answer to the 370L's soon
After a chunk of digging, and reading up on some of Latestarters older posts, the 370L was a mismatch of parts. The six litre bottom end, block from ford brazil 7.8litre, and the 112mm pistons to suit....
So, pistons are available :)

It is identical to my 330s as far as mounting it goes, gearbox etc....

So if it comes to plan....
Get them in my workshop, stripped, checked and rebuilt....
Bolt them in boat..... And then get the 330s home.... And stripped... Checked.... Rebuilt.....
Happy days..... :)

Thanks Alf. May well do, but i need to get engines first, and pull em apart...
Pots for the 370 should be available, mahle make spares for them unde the 7.8 litre ford guise... Not so sure abou the 330.
I would be gobsmacked if there are no other pistons cant be machined or dont already match...
Having said that... Dont know if i need any yet... Working on a worst case scenario....

I'm confused, easily perhaps...

First post says you found a good pair, now you're talking about rebuilding them and new pistons? All on a boat you plan to sell.

Its all worryingly similar to what I'm doing.

Hopefully good pair yes, wont really know till i get them. (If I get them)
From what i have been told, they were a good pair when last used.
Doesnt seem right to me to bolt in thirty year old engines without having them apart first.... Easy when out of boat, and to me seems sensible for a change...
