As usual weekend disasters have led to a week full of phone calls trying to locate spares and bits.
When on the Thames I used to collect the names and phone numbers of suppliers of the spares for my engines and electrical bit and pieces (including insulated matting for SHMBO). Now we've moved to Brighton and I've got to start all over again. Any one know of reliable (open on Saturday's) agents for Ford engine spares and Lucas / CAV spares and bits. While we're on the subject anybody know where I can get hold of a copy of the catalogue that the motor factors use to cross reference differing makes of filters & belts etc. Is there a copy on the net?

News update: Boat back in water. Service from Brighton marina staff absolutly brilliant. Sea trials dependent upon decent weather and supply of parts buggered by over enthusiastic spanner jocky (me).

Thanks

Stuck lift pump, started to disassemble and bits everywhere. So much cursing and verbal abuse wife volenteered to clean out bilges and find the bits. Can't be all bad.

I know of a Lucas/CAV distributor in Tunnel Avenue Greenwich SE London called Ranburns. They sell to the general public but might be a bit out of your way.

You've been away so long thought you'd been had up for electrocution of MrsP. Did you ever find out what caused it, if so please draw diagram so it can be used down here!

Now that we're back on our normal supply the problem seems to have gone away. Never did find out what caused it could be the fridge.

Since we've been back in the water been bilge diving and playing with the noisy metal bits so the electric ladder has taken a bit of a back seat but will let you know if I find the culprit.
