Have a motor boat fitted with 2 ford engines, quite old but until recently working well.
One engine suddenly refused to start so used easistart.engine fired, revved, and died.
On checking found broken valve spring which i suspected as being the cause.removed head fitted new spring lapped valve and everything appeared in excellent condition,no bore wear.
Refitted head, bled diesel lines, fuel to injector pipes ok.
Engine refuses to start or even detonate, even with easistart.
Only other problem was me stupidly putting diesel in the injector pump when should have been engine oil
Was advised that as long as refilled pump with correct oil would not be a problem.
I cannot understand why the engine will not at least fire using easistart even if not run.
Am i missing something, could my initial use of easistart have caused damage, ie timing gears jumping.
Compressions seem fine.
Would appreciate any advice to resolve.

Not even firing with easy start is suspicious.

Does there appear to be much compression if you try and turn it over by hand? (Usually a facility for this on the crank pulley).

Seems to be good compression but will check with gauge.
Have also sent starter motor for overhaul as should turn over faster.
Its a pity i cant tow start it!!
