For those who sail (or wish to) the Small Cyclades.

What a fantastic video, we have just watched part of it, and it stirred many happy memories. Interesting to see the islands in winter.
I did not realise that the" Captain Scopelitis" is privately owned. It is always great to be there when he arrives in a harbour as is a real slice of Greek life.

Many thanks for posting the link.

THANK YOU for this link!

I spent many summers in Greece and for sure I remember Express Scopelitis on the route to Amorgos in July 2005.
The sea was so heavy (Meltemi) that almost everybody disembarked on Donousa.

I love Cyclades (small or "big")
:)

Thanks for the link.

The video once more reminded me that “ Philanthropy “ is Greek.

Even in these difficult times I have met some Greeks practising this way of life.

One of the reasons I will stay in Greece next year, tax or no tax.

Yes, thanks for the link. SWMOB and I watched the whole thing last night and loved it. Captain Mitsos Skopelitis was clearly much loved by the people of those islands, and it's easy to see why.

We watched the rest of the video last night and almost had tears in our eyes, the affection that he and the ship were held in was very obvious.
Interestingly, at the end of the film, there are links to other videos, and "hard rock Skopelitis " is worth a look. It shows the ship leaving Ikaria in a real hoolie, causing great merriment to all and sundry.

Actually it is Herakleia opposite Schoinousa, with the bay open to ENE if I remember well.

Thanks Glyka,
loved the video! fantastic overhauling/refit shots too!Just as well they have the backpackers in summer, must be tempting to charge them a premium to balance operational costs in winter!going to watch the other video now!
