For those if you who knew me as an enforcer...

Hello Kim

As an ex wooden boat owner (40ft Bates Starcraft) I sympathise. But she should be gorgeous when you've finished.

Are you now retired?

Best wishes
Tony

I watched the progress on your boat, and suplied lots of bits for it (all the best quality), I hape you came in and said hello!

Shes a beauty, enjoy her and make sure you wave at us all as you pass, /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: Apologies, long post with big pics

Good luck mere mortal.

Thanks for posting the progress on the boat, she looks a real classic and will probably turn out to be one of the only investments on here! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Well done and keep us posted, pleeease.

Hi Chrissie - not sure which of the chandlers you work for in Gosport but I have spread my favours around much of the marine industry over the past nine months (and am likely to continue doing so for some time to come)!

We probably met...without realising it.

A guy that was restoring a Christina in a workshop down there - he only originally intending stripping our engines down for spares for the one engine in the Christina but I think ours were in better fettle than expected and so I would imagine one of them is installed by now.

Beecham sealiner

As an enthusiastic amateur I have come across an unmodernised sea liner (12m)

I'm interested in restoring her (not by my own fair hand) back to glory and installing 21st century infrastructure

I'm paying 10k for her and then will need to restore her

What's yours worth now finished and any other advice?

Yes GRP bottom, wooden top.

Beecham Marine did all wood cruisers of similar shape to various lengths in 1960s but they did around six of these 45s in the 1970s until 25% VAT killed their business as boatbuilders. Got reinvented as Tewkesbury Marina.

.

As a current resident of Tewkesbury Marina, I am interested in how on earth your boat got from the workshops, to anywhere usable? Was it taken directly by road to be launched somewhere sensible? I struggle with the King John Bridge in Rafiki, and she would look lost next to Formanda.

workshop manual.
Yup.I got a pair of those and the manual detailing the exact size of hammer to fix them with.Plus assumption throughout that you might actually want to fix it yourself.
Ie page 35,when installing your new liner( do not hit it with a a hammer) and a step by step guide on stripping down.
A heat exchanger that you strip out in 15 mins etc etc
No waffy let you down after a heavy dew electronics and scary man in white coat with ermine covered CanBus box charging £2.50 a mile to drive from Poole only to tell you that the board is on backorder "sir" and should be with them in say......2 weeks :).:)

Well under 2 gallons per hour a 1400 rpm... Pucker raw water impellers at around £30.00 a pop. What not to like.

D series Volvo Ha Ha ha ha...££££££££££££££££££££££££££££

Ps.do you still have that a fence post holding up the deck. /
