for Merc fans .... one to restore

It worries me a bit when I see 'collectors items' sometimes.
I had one of those beggars new.

Then I see words/phrases like
'Blast from the Past' .

****e, it only seems llike last week I was running it in!!

I know... if only you kept alll those things....... I always get irritated when my Dad mentions that he had a 1930 Bentley 4 1/2 litre he had in the 50's.... he sold it for £700..

I get really irritated when I remember my Dad part exchanging his Aston DB4 GT + Money for a new Jag 420G.
The Jag on a good day is worth beggar now all but the Aston now is £500k+ !!!! That's irritating......

Sorry for the thred dwift.

I had one of those as well - it was a good engine until it went pop on Lake Windermere in 1980. Errk!! That was 30 years ago!!

Its a 4-pot obviously and I think it is 650cc. Great engine, made like a Swiss watch inside. If one has the time, it would be a good project. Spares...Hmmm... Bill Higham Marine in Manchester could be a good bet.

Now indulge me 30 seconds while I bang on about my old 90HP straight-6 Merc. Another Swiss watch engine with a luuuurvely howl at WOT. Probly the best outboard I have ever owned - better than my Suzi 100 V-4 even.
