I've been reading these reports since they left the carribean, I might even pop down to Lymington to say hello since I may be afloat again by then.....

Re: Wine, glorious wine

i would not mind but you occaisonally see posts on say PBO saying anyone get any bread recipies whilst afloat?

do they do this no its all ham toasties and cheese sandwiches

so it could read
'we had fair winds froom the north west and decided to free off and hoist the Kite and hope our greater speed would make up for our more Southerly course.
Meanwhile i weighed out 8n ounces of good quality strong white flour 15 fluid ounces of water to which i had added yeast and honey and allowed to sit for 15 minutes
into this i mixed the flour then went onto deck because someone had spotted a whale blowing on the port beam. Having got a photo and casrried out some running trepair to the baby stay the mixture was ready for kneeding......etc.etc.'

You've been reading Hiscock again...Susan braced herself against the roll of the boat, her shadow tracing an arc on the sole as she measured out enough strong flour for a fine loaf I was looking forward for lunch...

...or was it out of a packet, truly awesome and a positive experience?

I think that would make a bit of a wet dough. What are you making, bread or pancakes?

Re: Wine, glorious wine

i did think that
i use the jamie oliver recipe
i can follow that easy peasy and make great ciabatta
however if you see the trail of devastation i leave behind you would not let me try it on a boat.

Poss a good move to leave making mess in the kitchen to Mrs Sailbad. You stick to washing up and pouring wine (voice of experience here).

Re: oooooooooops sack the wine waiter

mm did that the other night
unfortunately got a bit carried away with the wine pouring and ended up a bit horizontal and dishevelled.
Mrs sailbad not a happy bunny. In fact Mrs sailbad flippin furious as i fell asleep on the sofa and woke her later on crawling into the pit.
then (allegedly) proceeded to snore so she ended up in spare room ( Married less than 3 weeks is that a record???)
last night i did the cooking so she could keep my paws off the wine.

all this talk ofwine is making me thirsty

Yeah, and then take him to North Foreland when the cross tides are running and watch him sick it up again!
