A new victualling service is now operating between OZ and the Middle East. Should yachts require fresh meat en route, suggest you follow one of the many “sheep bulk carriers” operating over this route. Seems for the months of May/June / July this year, some 14500 sheep went over the side. Good fresh Aussie lamb… greatly reduced prices.
Get yours now, before they all go.

Sounds a bit like the 40,000 containers that have been reported "lost" over the last 5 years. Genuine losses make a great cover for "losing" a great deal more to small coasters in remote anchorages.

Shipping companies get the money back from insurers, skppers get a bit of extra dosh to help themselves and spread around the crew to keep them with the ship. Harbour authorities in many parts of the world aren't adverse to the odd "gift" either.

There is quite a large trade of live sheep between OZ/NZ and the middle east so that the killing of them can conform to Halal traditions.
Because they are packed so tight on board some of them die on the way hence the throwing overboard. -----sort of slave ships for sheep.
