Nicely situated on waterfront, about the only good thing about the place!

Tables crammed in for maximum covers, awful loud music of possibly middle eastern origin making conversation difficult, possibly desigend to stop you overhearing people at adjoining tables complaining!

Sat down, not offered the set menu, which must be by design as table either side of us had same expeirence. Menu looked good, shame the actual food did not live up to description. I also object to having to pay extra for vegetables, about 3 quid a portion. They also conveniently forgot to tell me my fish came with mashed potato and suggested i order chips to go with it. They also pushed their creamed spinach to eveyone within earshot, maybe cos it was the most expensive veg at £3-50 a go! Or am I just a cynic?

Debs ordered local suckling pig and ended up with a tough steak, they forgot the wine and not even a thanks when the bill was paid. Didn't like the handwritten bit on the bottom of the bill reminding us that service charge was not included.

Chap on next table asked for the manager to complain that his mineral water wasn't in fact mineral water at all, they had to admit they had a "system in the kitchen" which presumably means they filled the bottles from the tap!

£70 for poor service and poor food. A rip off. Avoid. And they were full, hope others eating there did better than us.

It would help if you named the restaurant. Or was it "Food for Thought"?

Not the first poster whose grammar resulted in ambiguity . . .

According to the 'Food for Thought' website Mr Tony and Cherie ate there - nuff said?

Try the Royal Fowey, and Sam's is supposed to be good but no booking and cash only. Sam's 'other place' fish and chips is excellent.

People often forget Polruan on the other side to Fowey. It's quieter and had plenty of pubs serving food.
Re Sams, I'm no a big fan but I've never had a bad meal there.

Good point but don't know any of them and in particular whether they are any good or not. Unfortunately Food For Thought was a recommendation!

Never mind, gives us something to remember and laugh at!
