Following on from Steve\'s \"fancy a pint\"?

Well I'm certainly up for it this weekend, I've "talked" to most of you here on the forum, and only actually met the "Happy1". It would be nice to meet more of you, I won't be on the boat, but will stay at The Black Bear on Saturday, will arrive Saturday morning. Duncan - Steve says to prompt you with "mountgay rum", what's the story behind that one?

Hope to see lots of you there!

Well. it alledgedly never happened. Last year about this time we had what I spose was the first forum meeting. The whip in the jug got upto around the 260 quid mark. The beer was flowing quiet a lot, then the Mountgay came out. Safe to say Duncan never fell into the boat off the quay, the ducks were unharmed and the withies in the wareham channel changed sides. Oh and the name Duncan Disorderly was never banded about........alledgedly!

And this year it will all be very genteel and sober. Hey up! There's a pink thing with a snout and curly tail, just flown past my window/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I've never known one of our little meetings ever get out of hand that way.

I've looked in all my ornathalogical books, can't find that bird you decribe anywhere. I suggest that you contact the RSPB to see if they can identify it.

Firstly ignore Barry's clearly distorted memory of the event. The sun and beer were both strong on the day.
I am sure you will have an excellent weekend but regret that I am unable to attend (and I have already advised aztec).
Having spent last weekend as a guest of the scuttlebutters bouncing around the channel to Cherbourg I have a few os things to do at home.
Will be back down to Poole in November sometime
