I'm thinking of investing in a folding RIB (F-RIB) as a tender, having seen them at the Southampton Boat Show (see www.nestawayboats.com/F-RIB for details). Just a small one (275); a RIB is handy when you're up against Caribbean coral heads, and a folding one could be stowed below for the Atlantic crossing... Has anyone on the forum actually tried a F-RIB? If so, what was it like, and if not, what's the catch (apart from the price)?

I purchased a Tinker fold away rib from Henshaws many years ago. A lot lighter than the one you mention but then the hull form was simpler. It is nice though having a solid floor that is puncture proof imho. I also have the sailing rig but I'm not to sure on it and don't use it often.
