flybridge controls on 1980 fairline 32 sedan

As i was mooring the flybridge port engine control lever seized, i went down and saloon cotrols were ok, as i had to go sharpish i didnt have time to look at cables etc. Has this happened to any one else

Yep, think so. Side of engine Volvo?? theres a rod on the cable that gose through a hole. it sticks instead of sliding. Volsplutter did a mod I think, but I mended mine by rounding off the ends of the hole. Not surprised it sticks though.

Get some one to waggle the lever whilst you look and see where it's sticking. It's just a piece of mettle about 3mm thick.

Fit tyraps to clips that hold outer cable to control mounting. Stiff control, a bit of pressure and clip springs off leaving inner and outer cable loose, you with lots of throttle and whatever gear you last selected. Only recourse is switch engine off fast.
