Wandering along the beach this afternoon about 5pm on Southampton was I could see a white flybridge of about 40ft I guess, quite noisey with a big rooster tail, any guess what it might be?

I had an idea it was an outdrive boat, with the drives right up, but seemed to be going quite quick like it and why would they do that?

I think it came from the Itchen.

Solitaire or Elessar, any ideas?

I saw it go by but wondered just the same as you did.

Have to admit i know little about surface drives and have never driven a boat with them. I understand they have poor acceleration and difficult low speed handling, but are efficient at high speed due to lack of drag. Who can enlighten me?
