We hired a flyboard instructor for a couple of days last month. Great fun and highly recommended. You basically take a snowboard with a couple of nozzles and a length of fire hose, and attach to a jetski (preferably 200hp+). Here's a fun video of it all - most of the flyers in this are my sons and their friends, with about 5 seconds of me somewhere. Video edit is by one of my sons, who edits much better than I do. It is in high res so it is best watched in full screen

:) It's a loaner. Manufacturer lent it to MBY to test, who gave it to me to test. I need to write a snippet for the mag. It was very nice, but has gone back now

In the final scene, the towing 2 tender thing is MYAG's and my (identical) tenders. I have another video to put up of that whole incident. Stay tuned!

Very good; I've not seen the 'dolphin' move before; looks great fun as long as the jet ski pilot keeps up with the flyer!
Nice editing, the young ones do seem to be able to do that kind of thing very well.

All looks fab!

Yep - I noticed the TWO Novuranias!!
I even rewound the video to look for AG
But then the last few seconds explained it - MYAG must have been on board - or perhaps one of the flyboarders :D

I was banned from buying a flyboard - SWMBO said I would kill myself - or, more importantly, "nearly kill myself".
Anyway, our Jetski has gone now so no flyboarding opportunity.

Interesting how effective the drone footage is when flying it low down.
What editing software are you using?

Now that looks like fun. Not easy to stay looking cool though. I'm guessing a few spectacular face. & arse plants :(

Nice little flick in there.

I had someone who wanted to do that on a charter with us in April. Declined on the basis I couldn't be bothered to revive them after the hypothermia set in, didn't want to spend all the next day cleaning blood off the bathing platform and don't need raw sewage traipsing through the boat as they go to get a shower.

In somewhere like Asia though with bath water like sea. That I could be persuaded to try.

At first I thought you had a bolt loose on the bathing platform when I saw the giant lilo.

Henry :)

Great video and editing, and the drone certainly makes for some amazing home videos!

Having mixed up the dates and missed your kind invitation to come along, I was in the doghouse with the kids, but fortunately we were anchored off St Jean later in the holiday and another company were doing the rounds offering a go, so we rented it for an hour for the four of us.

Youngest (5 yrs old) had to go with instructor

Eldest (10 yrs old) was able to fly it himself.

I wouldn't say it's easy, but I think anyone with remotely good balance can pick it up quite quickly, and it's a lot of fun.

jfm, can you hire the whole package as well as the instructor? Have you got a link or contact no? I've got a couple of mates onboard I want to make look silly next weekend

Yup, you can hire the whole package. Here's what I did, but it is followed by a "but": I hired luxurywatertoys.eu (email "sales@" and her name is Leyla). Very helpful crowd. You agree a time and a place and the guy turns up - instructor, flyboard, jetski, all accessories incl wetsuits and helmets, everything. I can't fault the service, but was e400/hour.

Then while doing all this with my e400 guy, the guy that Nick used rocked up in his RIB and was e250/hour! He basically wanders around the St Jean Cap Ferrat anchorage with a support RIB and you can just toot horn and RIB comes over and you get a time slot there and then. You can also prebook: contact through www.jetriviera.com and the boss there is uber helpful/nice guy Pascal. I have his leaflet on boat and will try to get you the details. This e250 flyboarding guy was seriously good, and is EU champion or something.

Fantastic and I see that they rent jetskis and seabobs too! Thanks
