Try potted Venus Fly traps spaced around the boat.
Give you hours of free entertainment as well.
watching them being chewed up.

Its the 1st time Ive seen a problem with fly pooh, seagull/cormorant pooh yes... fly pooh no! We're not talking model yachts are we?

Ive got a spider who lives behind the radar and nabs any wasps and stray flies.

I've got approx. 500 spiders on board give or take a few and believe me, they are pooing more then any fly can do. Really nasty spots that are hard to get off.
First job every morning is to clean away all the webs and by the time we have coffee they are back again.
They hide in all the nooks and crannies you can think of.

I know everyone will take the mick out of a fly poo posting but I know how bad it can be.

My boat is in Cardiff Bay and since the construction of the barrage and the change to fresh water from the tidal salt water the fly problem is a pain.

In the worst months of July and August I had to scrub the boat from end to end every time on board(at least twice a week).

I have been told that the balance of nature will gradually be restored as predators of the flies such as fish birds and spiders discover that Cardiff is THE place to dine out.

Luckily they dont seem interested in going down below.
If anyone has a genuine way of dealing with the problem Id love to hear it.I have considered netting over the boat but it would be more of a pain than scrubbing.
