Hi,

Want to flush through and add antifreeze to the raw water side of the cooling. Last year did this on the hard (Southsea) with engine muffs - easy.

This year can't run the engines when out of the water (Chichester). So the plan is to remove the pipe attached to the pump just below the impeller and attach a new pipe. Run the new pipe in to a bucket which is kept topped up with water from a running hose. Leave the engine running for a few mins (five ?) to give it a good flush through and then add a couple of bucket fulls of premixed anti freeze solution.

Now to the questions. Anyone any idea what size pipe (internal dimension) I need? Forgot to measure at the weekend. Any suggestions as to the best place to get some from?

Inevitably this will result in some antifreeze mixture being ejected from the exhaust, is this a really bad thing? Is it possible to get antifreeze thats environmentally friendly?

Cheers

Mark
