i'm off to florida for 2wks holiday with the family in the orlando area (yes theme parks q's screamng kids and lots and lots of tacky tourist stuff) i'm not really looking foward to it, but i'm sure the rest of the family are.
I'd really love to get a wee bit sailing in, has anybody got any ideas about where to go even crewing for someone for a day or two would be a nice break from micky mouse and co.

mbay,

Not sure about the sailing bit, no doubt someone will offer some good info, but having done this same trip in April this year, I would strongly recommend a trip down to Cape Canaveral to the NASA facility... not only is it a very interesting day out, but also a chance to see what looks like a great sailing area....... the drive in is past all the marinas.....

try phoning Al Pollak at massey's in St Petersburg. He is a very keen sailor with lots of contacts and may be able to point you in the right direction. Although he is primarily based on the West Coast of Florida he does also work out of Masseys east Florida office. Number is 001 877 552 0525

There's a couple of people in Clearwater do day charters for the tourist. I don't know the names but the yacht area in the harbour is quite small.

I have often planned to go out sailing for a day or two but end up doing other stuff.
