Some time ago there was an article in PBO about plans for a 'flopper stopper'. I have mislaid my magazine - can anyone recall which issue the article was in please.
Andrew Simpson, in his monthly column, wrote about the flopper stopper. I think there was another article showing how to make one but can't find that copy.
I made one - dead easy, using ply (Simpson used grp). 18" triangle, with a bridle from each corner meeting at a single point to which a line is attached to dangle it from the end of the boom. I added a piece of lead at one corner to allow it to dive on the downward roll.

Mine is a triangle piece of ply, each side appx 22 inches. One corner must be weighted (I use an old anode). Hung via a bridle from the spinnaker pole. Works very well. However, in some anchorages it is a magnet for collecting weed, which renders it useless!
