We're rebuilding parts of the wheelhouse in our old boat. What we're not changing is going to be refurbished and should look really nice. What will finish it off really well is some new floor covering. The existing deck covering is not holed but does look very tired (after 30 years of use).

I'm looking for something similar to the original, about 1mm thick, canvas backed and very durable so that I can glue it on but wrap it under the edges of the removable floor panels.

I've had a look on Ebay and Amazon but haven't seen anything that would fit the bill. The vinyl that they seem to sell is tiles (too thick) and sheet pvc (used by signwriters) too thin.

So, carpet is no good (too difficult to keep clean) and vinyl tiles are no good unless I can somehow edge them to look 'right'. Any thoughts??

Had a look but the quantities are way too high - I only want maybe 6 sq metres! but thank you for the info. :)

Speak to some flooring contractors locally who do commercial/catering work. The have to buy the stuff by the roll and have all sorts of bits left over from jobs. They may well be happy to do a deal for a few square metres.

Look for Amtico vinyl flooring. It was coming up on Ebay a while back.Looks just like teak Tekdek stuff.

My folks have that in their bathroom. It takes quite a bit of looking after. It has to be coated every so often or it can start to fail. Having said that they have had it for at least 15 years now although my Mother is meticulous in its upkeep and has had to have a few repairs done.

Worth knowing. I have seen it used and was going to try it but maybe not. What i need is what i think the OP needs, the teak deck effect but on a roll of durable vinyl?

Any vinyl floor covering. Cheap, hard wearing and huge choice of finishes.

You can't use any old vinyl. For a start non slip is handy on a boat (there are different factors) and foam backed is no good. Suddenly your into commercial flooring which becomes more limited and more expensive.
