Huge tidal surge today
Tide well over predication cannot remember the last time the road outside the club was flooded.
Now flooding hits storm-battered Kent
Spot the dinghy ?

Helicopter and Gravesend RNLI rib out searching around QEII bridge. Reports of somebody in the water.
Nothing found and everybody stood down.
Helicopter went on to towards Ipswich but turned round and went back to Lydd.

I've often heard people say the Barrier causes flooding around the Thames Estuary but I'm not convinced by the logic. I saw a post recently on this but can't remember where.

Raising the barrier and saving our glorious Capitol City from inconvenience is rumoured to add around .5 to 1M to water levels in the lower esturary ie. us.

Speaking as an olde person can remember when Canal Road in Strood was frequently made a lot more pleasant and hygenic after being inundated by the Medway at HW.
Speaking as an even older person can recall when the Medway at Maidstone used to flood up to the bottom of Museum street.
Things of course are much better now, we just flood Yalding instead.
