The river is due to peak here in the next few hours. Whilst not detracting from the seriousness I can safely state that this area has seen far far worse in the past. 2003 was around 3' higher and other years have been much higher here too.

I have to say that although Envag know sod all about boats, boating and navigation they have done a splendid job in flood management control.

Anyone know when the hosepipe ban is due?

According to Sky the expected surge did not hit Abingdon/Oxford last night. Reading will be at its worst around Wednesday/Thursday so I am hopeful of a narrow escape. The water level here is up from last night but not any more worryingly so.

I think we'll still cancel the wedding reception on Friday and we are now searching for an alternative venue, thankfully we have a few ideas.

I have filled four butts with rainwater so the hosepipe bad shouldn't be an issue. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Guess that Andrew (assuming he is still there) is running around his Moulsford shop with his lifejacket on.
Came up the A4074/A34 this morning; all the fields flooded but roads all clear.
Took a run into Witney yesterday. Devastating to see the damage caused when it's not touched where I am.

This is Tom Jones Moorings below Romney Lock this morning

Tristan now a little further out than when I left her /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Am going back up this evening to check on her, thankfully my fellow moorers who are closer are keeping an eye.
