Cripes, just driven to work through the worse flooding I have ever seen in my area of South Oxfordshire, and none of the water was in
the river! With the forecast for more rain today and tomorrow we are in for a record new level I fear.

Well they are running it off as quick as they can. It actually dropped a weeny bit here yesterday but I suspect that will be short lived in view of your comments Chris.

The Windrush and the Evenlode have both burst their banks where I crossed them this morning.
A lot of water flowing rapidly towards the rivers

There's a fair amount of water heading your way

River Ash bust it's banks in Herts, widespread flooding, but the superbly engineered River Lea Navigation showing no stress at all in Ware!

The Medway has it bad
Taken today by the Redhill air ambulance

Its the National Police Air Service chopper based at Redhill Aerodrome but they fly all over the south east assisting local forces. Apparently this is a national force with 23 choppers all over the uk.
I've been following them quite a bit on Twitter - https://twitter.com/NPAS_Redhill - and they take some pretty interesting aerial shots from time to time.
Here's one of Desborough Island at Weybridge: https://twitter.com/NPAS_Redhill/status/422740783628685312/photo/1
You can get the full monte here:
