What does 'floating ground' mean when applied to switches? I need an engine oil pressure switch with 'isolated earth return'. Is the floating ground the same, or the opposite?

A two wire switch for an engine which does not use the cylinder block as a common negative return ??
Try ASAP Supplies. Might need an adapter as well.
Apologies if you've seen it already but Parts 4 Engines say, " On marine versions, Perkins would often isolate the engine block from the earth (-) supply and in these cases a twin spade oil pressure switch is needed. New ones are now hard to source, but we hope to have stock very soon."Tried them already.

If you're really stuck, a relay would do the trick.
