Know the feeling, not had a real break since February, worked through all the hot weather and now we have a week onboard, the weather looks carp...

Watching the weather as we're off Wed/Thurs/Fri. But who knows with the British weather. Lots can change between now and then.

This doesn't help I know- and I'm not carping but my weeks off recently did coincide with the brilliant weather we had last month. We visited (from the Solent) Weymouth, Brixham, Dartmouth and Salcombe. We had a fantastic week (except the visitor fees at Brixham MDL). I hope the weather won't ruin your plans too much.

Saturday coming? Wind is from west isn't it, and will have just changed so waves shouldn't be too bad,so should be do-able. Return might be a bit more testing though unless you are staying more than few days.
Still- days to go, so just watch how it is trending...
Hang on.. I was thinking you were coming from Torbay.. should be ok for the few miles from Weymouth ;)

Wave height of 90cm ? Am I looking at the wrong chart ;)
The waves are bigger surfing off the beach;) Don't mistake wind for rough...look at the wind Friday to Saturday... I think Saturday will be easy, just open her up ! Getting back might be a bit slower.

We shall be arriving in Weymouth tomorrow, from the isle of white, forecast is that a forecast ,why don,t you see what it's like on sat morning could all change by then, poke your head out if running with wind and tide, makes for a interesting trip, but should be ok, make sure to try and arrive at cowes around slack water if possible, we were heading for Channel Islands but making a change of plan :) that's the great thing about our boating no firm plans.

yes that is why I was planning on leaving Weymouth on the 8am bridge then arrive IOW 10.30-11.00AM and high tide is 10.52 apparently so wont be far off, what do you think of that plan :)

when we are planning on leaving height is 1.1-1.4mts which is more than I would be comfortable in :)

We are leaving early o'clock tomorrow ( as it's my birthday today that could be anytime:) ) wind been getting up by the afternoon so your plan sounds about right, don't be to put of by wave height as been mentioned running with wind and tide makes for a better trip, if you have little ones on board or peeps that not to keen then leave it for another weekend ,when you looking to head back southerly tomorrow so no shelter from land, but if the wind changes so as coming from land side , can be better to keep close in ,my birth might be vacant ,hammerhead j/k ,right in front of pub :)
Our boat ,s name in Too Calm, if you are still there at the weekend call in for a beer.

yes will have a couple of teenagers on board but it will be swmbo that will get twitchy so will decide on the day, we will be aiming to head back around 14/15th aug but again weather permitting and I have 2 weeks off so no drama if we get stuck in cowes

Looks like I'll be banging into it n Sunday, but its only a F3-4, just stand well off at St Albans - south of the DZ range marker buoy.

Now being cheeky - anyone using your berth for a couple of nights or is that up to Dean & Reddyhoff ?

I don't know as I have never been away over night but I think it would be up to the marina I don't think I could just tell you that you could use it, it would be fine by me if it were allowed but I really don't know perhaps another dean and reddyhoff berth holder could comment

If you still have the one with a 3knot current through it, I doubt anyone would want it! :D:D

Great advice, put the family off boating, nice :ambivalence:

Ummm how would you handle a metre of waves coming from behind ? What his crews' personal comfort zone is, he will know, but it will be a better journey driving through the waves than have them slosh past you.
