Flip side to Gludy\'s experience!

What a bunch of tw@ts they seem at Dickies! Sorry to here about that Gludy.

On the flip side, let me name a good broking experience - Torbay Yacht Brokers, run by Mike Harkness. My recent experience went as follows:-

Arranged to travel to see boat on one Saturday - no problems, Mike was helpful, knowledgeable and prompt in action. I made an offer subject to survey, paperwork completed then and there and Mike managed the paperwork from thereon - no problems.

Arranged survey from a list of recommended locals. Mike helped arrange and coordinate this and it all went without a hitch and was completed by the Wednesday. Very professional job.

Decided to buy said boat and the paperwork was completed the following day, so was the money transfer. Contacted transport company recommended by Mike, and they were great. Boat was delivered last sat morning - 12 hours early, enabling me to get a whole days extra work done on it.

The whole experience was precise, well managed, well presented, friendly, professional and the after sales was great - nothing too much trouble.

I think its as important to quote good experiences as it is to quote bad ones.

I am now trying to get the money Dickies hold out of them and somehow arrange for the poor buyer to get his work done to the boat - he is not going to be pleased when he returns from holiday!

It's nice innit' when somebody actually does something for their commision! Well done Torbay yacht brokers! A good reccomendation on here will send him business for sure. I only wish a few others would realise that!

I agree, Torbay are very good. Was looking at a boat at the beginning of the year. Came down from Sussex night before. Mike was on time, showed me around the boat. Very knowledgable. Even took me off to see the new trailer, where we met the boat's engineer. Nothing was too much trouble. Would have bought the boat apart from niggles about a recent exterior paint job on the hull and engine having had a new head.

From what I can gather he does move a lot of stock. Well done to him! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
