Hi, Next year we are off to Volos again, out of Manchester to charter for 3 weeks. We went out this year for 2 weeks flying from Manchester via Skiathos. The cost of Monarch flights were over £800.00 for the two of us plus 50e each way in a taxi to Volos town. Now that's nearly another £1000 on top of the cost of charter, which isn't cheap. We really enjoyed the Sporades and packed in quite a lot but next time we want to go down to Skyros as well, hence the 3 week charter. We have looked at alternative ways of getting to Volos and are looking at maybe Easyjet to Athens or Thessalonika and getting a bus or train straight into Volos. Has anyone done it this way or perhaps another way is possible that would save us some money. Earlier on this year I posted a thread on this forum asking for help and advise regarding sailing in this area having spent many years in the Ionian, I was very pleased with all the replies they helped a rather nervous skipper, thanks for that. We have now decided to look for a share in the Sporades but they seem few and far apart, does anyone know of any shares up for sale other than in the Ionian?
Thanks

Thanks for the replies, I've looked into Easyjet to Thessalonika with onward bus journey and it seems this could be the way go.

Ping a PM to Vas on the Mobo forum. He lives in Volos, and will possibly have a pretty good idea of the best transport choices.
