Anyone got any tips for maximising useable capacity on rectangular bag tanks. Is it best to drain from the centre connection or the one at the end. Anyone tried packing up the edges. I just realised I am lugging around a lot of unnecessary weight. Anyone managed to fit a level gauge at all.

The useable capacity depends on where you put them. I have two, under the forward V berths, so they adopt the triangular section of the locker space when full. My bags are also slightly longer than the space available so that also restricts them. As you pump water out of them, they collapse down, so it doesn't matter where you put the outlet. I have the filler going into one tank, a second pipe then goes to the second tank and I draw from a T on this pipe, so tank 2 only has one connection. All connections on the tops of the tanks. I have to say, though, I regret losing the galvanised steel tanks fitted to my previous boat - the water in the flexible tanks always has a bad taste.
