Flavel Vanessa out, Origo in

To avoid all the problems of installing a new gas locker and drains I have thought about putting in an origo. However, the Vanessa, although narrower than the origo, is only 50cm on gimbals whereas the origo on gimbals would be 51cm, the gimbals take up 2.5cm eash side, just too big. Can I hang an origo on small gimbals?

You can easily install Origo without gimbals but first you ought to swap your boat to a multihull because they don't need gimbals at all

IIRC the techimpex is a good replacement fit, but do a very good quality inspection before accepting it as quality control is not something they are very good at!

I have an Origo on my little Vivacity. It's not on gimbles but lives in a cut out in the sink cover. It seemed to work okay with fiddles the once I've tried it at sea but we launch on Saturday so maybe I'll find out differently then I'll let you know.
