Can a flavel cooker (old) run on propane as well as butane. I know it needs a different adapter.

Should be ok with the correct regulator.

Use a modern dual fuel 30mb regulator ( preferably an Annexe M marine regulator)

Do the pipework correctly and you will have the option to use propane or butane/camping gaz by merely swapping the cylinder to regulator pigtail

I have an old Flavel and I am sure that in each of the burner assemblies there is a mix or air screw which can be adjusted to get a blue flame. This might be necessary.
