I recently made a cockpit table and to reduce its stored size cut it in half and reconnected the halves with brass hinges.

As a minor irritation, The hinge section sticks up (they are butt hinges) and I'd like to make the hinge completely flush with the tabletop. I've seen this type of hinge on 'shop-bought' products but can't seem to find a source - Internet/chandlers/architectural ironmongers etc. Anyone any ideas?

They are called "counter hinges". I bought some good quality ones from:-

Strada Architectural Ironmongery

As far as I remember they had 2 sizes

Thank you DYLAN and thank you TWISTEROWNER.

You have to admit it, this forum stuff is the business! Problem solved in 10 minutes flat! Luv it.

Problem with some brass hinges is that the pin is made from mild steel. You might want to check ( maybe with a magnet ) if table exposed.
