Flares kit at French prices

Just bought a new offshore flare kit from Accastillage Diffusion in Cherbourg, Solas flares by Guerard in France. £ paras, 3 red handhelds and 2 floating smoke cannisters, in a box but not a watertight one, made in April 2007, expiry October 2010. Cost just 89 Euros or a little over £60 - UK prices I have seen are £140-£150, albeit in a screw top watertight bottle. Instructions on these French ones are in both French and English.

I replaced some of mine at Accastillage Diffusion in Treboul at a similar cost. They also were happy to take my Tesco bag full of very old ones. The chandler next door told me to let off the old flares on Bastille night!
The Accastillage Diffusion chain seems to be well organised and my local staff are very helpful.

Have you seen the price for an offshore kit in a water tight container from www.sailroom.co.uk

Not as cheap as yours, but alot bloody cheaper than a swindlery!!!

Where are they Al?. They are not listed under flares and signalling devices.

Because they can't send them through the post!!!!!

I paid £110 for the set! Including the big yellow water tight container.
