Flaking paint on engine

My 6 year old Beta has started shedding it's paint in places.Just to tidy it up for this season I wirebrushed the affected areas and painted over.I know it'll come off again in time and would like to apply some proper aluminium primer when it does.The paint is not coming off because of corrosion as the now bare metal is perfectly clean,rather because of bad surface preparation at the factory.
Is rhere an etching primer that comes in aerosol cans ?

You could use a self-etch pimer and proper paint system, most in the trade use this.

The aerosol version is OK providing you make sure the solids are truly in suspension before you start spraying.
