Well, had the boat out on the sealift for a quick scrub and anode change (I'm try to stretch the existing anti foul till summer).

Found a rather poorly looking underwater light, and on checking found both lights were not bonded to the the transom anode.

As the boat is only 2 years old I took it up with the dealer. Unfortunately the boat is out of warranty and Bavaria are not interested, regardless of the fact the light manufacturers date sheet recommends the lights be bonded and the exposed housing painted. I could purchase a new complete light from them for £700.00 + vat :ambivalence:

I decided to contact the manufacturers who are UK based to enquire about buying a new housing. Klare there customer service manager took a keen interest in my problem and offered to supply 2 new housings free of charge. The 2 new housings were delivered yesterday and are now awaiting a further lift so I can get them fitted and bonded. Credit where credit is due, no connection but fantastic customer service.

To give the dealer credit, they have since offered to supply and fit 2 replacement lights, but it's the attitude of Bavaria I find most disappointing.

hey , you paid your money , its not their problem anymore ............. says every rich man's toy supplier .
