PTFE Tape on the male thread and tighten up

Paint the mild steel handle so it doesn't rust away to nothing.

That may not be DZR at that price. Also heads outlets are usually 1.5" (38mm).

I'd use a jointing compound on the thread, or even a sealant such as Sikaflex, but I would also fit a lock nut so that the valve can be positively locked in the required position, not just screwed on until it becomes tight on a mass of tape.

Ideally parallel threaded fittings joints should make the seal on a joint washer between flat faces not on the thread itself. (Tapered threads make the joint on the thread)

That was the closest pic I could find, I am fitting DZR of the correct size.
