Fitting sacrificial strips

I imagine my sails are on their original sacrificial strips as the sail eyes etc are fitted over the sacrificial strip. Just wondering whether when the sacrificial strips are replaced the eyes are removed and new ones fitted or old eyes left and new sacrificial strip fitted around them.

yes to do a seaman like job , remove old strip c/w all ss cringles. Replace sacrificial strip & cringles . Crusader did mine at 1/2 price my local sailmaker including collection / del
