I've just spoken to Royal Harwich Yacht Club. They would gladly put something on for us, menus to follow if we're interested. Myself and Mr Seamist II would happily organise.:p

Better slug it out with Karouise who is also making plans (see post on Laying Down supper thread).

Not another hangover in the planning:p

I think we should accept competitive tenders from Brouillard de Mer Deux Inc and Karouise Warehousing International, with their favoured venues and product features.

I still vote for April 10.

I'm very happy for Karousie Warehousing International to take up the challenge, however our offer is there should it be required.:)

Please feel free to organise.

It is looking like the Green Man at Bradwell is already booked up, WMYC you have to row ashore (so not good for the return journey - hic!), so RHYC with the walk ashore pontoons is good news.

Sat 10 April gives HW of 1006 so reasonable start time for those sailing up from the south arriving mid afternoon.

Did I give in too easily?

We had the first one at West Merseaa. We ran aground at midnight in our dinghy not 10 yards from our boat - oh how we laughed.

If my calcs in my head are right, the tides arent.

Need to arrive Harwich LW, so leave Burnham around HW, to take tide up to Woolverstone LW + 1. Arrive then around 1700 - bit late for that sort of thing, never mind.

Well not perfect but not terrible! May just have to plug the last of the ebb to Woolverstone to arrive in time for a shower before the sun sinks to an appropraite position in relation to any yard arm you may have available. Alternatively have a sub mariners dhoby (wash) and just cover yourself in froo froo (deoderant)!

YES

It's booked!

We're on for the 10th April at RHYC! Please make notes in your diaries, I'd love to see as many forumites as we can muster. :D

Erm, by tradition there is a mid winter black tie meeting between the laying down and fitting up suppers, when not interfered with by yours truly :o
This most enjoyable gathering was organised by the honourable member, Mr Circle, and only missed last time because some numpty (me :D) didn't organise it after a brief attempt at doing so
May one formally request that Mr Circle resume the organising of this event, and maybe go for somewhere a little further North so those of us that don't get a nose bleed when we travel past the A14 might find it easier to attend ? :D
Here's one possible venue but I'm sure there are loads more

I'm not daft enough to try and organise it again :o

Ooooooooooh no I'm not :D

Watch out for Jim  he's behind you

I shall organise a little gathering for 27th February.

Norfolk is the county to suffer us this time.

Sorry, can't organise another eclipse of the moon, but it is nearly a Full Moon.

Places, as last time, will be strictly limited to about a dozen.....

My suggestion for a game for the "children" (sic) is paper aeroplanes - an open event with prizes for furthest distance flown and longest time in the air.

Bonus prize for best decoration.

Of course we may need prior permission to fly from Royal Harwich... :)
