Hi, has anybody got experience of fitting replacement cockpit winches to a spring 25? I am looking to swap mine for some Antal ST's. The stb side looks straight forward enough as you can access the studs by opening the locker, but with the port side coaming there is an inner skin as viewed from the rear cabin that prevents access to the studs. What is the best way of accessing the underside for fastening the studs in this case? Would you have to make an access hole to be able to fit a backing plate/washers and tighten up the nuts? or could you take out the inner stern transom moulding and somehow reeach in between the the deck and the skin? I also fitted a new main sheet track last year and this technique was used to insert a pre-tapped backing plate inbetween the inner skin and the deck to spread the load of the track fastenings, not easy, but essential... Would I need to take a similar approach the this? Anybody who has tackled this job and suceeded! I would be very interested to hear from. Many thanks, JT
