Ok, so the season is officially only a month away so up I got this morning to make a start on the list of things I've been meaning to sort on the Rib since bringing it home 5 months ago!!

So first proper job was to fit a new depth transducer to run through my plotter, looked fairly straight forward, phono plug on the end of transducer should plug into plotter.. not wanting to be caught out at the final stage I thought I would pull the plotter out of the dash and check it was a simple plug and play affair.. that was about 3 hours ago needless to say the plotter doesn't have a phono input :(

so, has anyone done this/know how to do this?? Options I might have are:

1) cut cable and wire through NMEA - but I can't find anything to confirm compatibility
2) buy a £25 navman adaptor (LT8 - Phono) that may or may not do the trick depending on whether it will work being plugged into the fuel flow input
3) buy a NAVBUS, but frankly unless I can confirm point 1 I'm not sure this helps
4) buy a dedicated depth sounder and throw what I've got away

Plotter is a Navman 5600
Transducer is a Navman AA010068 (old part no. AA002156)

Any help gratefully received, in the meantime I'll go and see if there are any other things I can completely fail to make a start on!
