The engine and domestic circuits on my mobo each have their own voltmeter on the instrument panel. The bow thruster and winch, however, are on a completely different circuit and the batteries are in a position where sticking a multi-meter on them would be a bit of a faff. So I was thinking of fitting a small LCD panel voltmeter in a more convenient position, permanently connected to the battery posts, perhaps with a push button on/off switch to provide a 'push to read' facility. Can anyone foresee any problems with this approach?

Check that the meter can be powered by the same source that it is monitoring
