Before we untie the fenders and mooring ropes and leave them on the jetty as per (Pete Goss) we need to fit a watermaker to our Yanmar 3GM.
Space is very limited as the boat is an Outremer 40 catamaran and access is from over the saildrive.
I can easily get a piggyback pulley for the flywheel .. I am not sure how to mount the pump?

Has anyone done this or seen it done something similar to fit an extra alternator or drive?
Ta..

I believe that loads

I believe that the loads on the bearings need to be closely balanced
so adding 1 or 2 more pulleys requires that they be spread evenly around the flywheel.

The standard method may be to add new pulleys(s) for the take off perhaps the original alternator, a second small pulley for the second alternator and a suitably sized heavy duty pulley sized for the correct rpm for the Cat pump for the reverse osmosis system.
