I got the boat kitted out from the last boat show with fitted sheets, duvets, and pillow covers. The pillow covers have been fitted on the pillows and resting on the paint work, bulkhead at the top end of the double bunk over the last 4 weeks. I assume that the humidty must be a little high, but not noticable. When I returned to the boat this week for an inspection. I have found that the dye from the pillows has impregnated the enamel paintwork.
The covers all looked very good and would have never imagined that the colour would leach onto the paint.
I do not think I have any other option, other than wash the covers to remove the dye, and repaint the bulkhead in question.
Just to let you know so you do not end up with this in your boat.
