I recently enjoyed the company of the wife of a good friend.
A charming and witty woman, intelligent, excellent cook and wi nae equal at ra drinkin.
She brought her husband - Mr P.Handy along who regaled us with promises of fish suppers. We did enjoy a fine meal one evening of Scallops and Halibut - bought from Obans Finest Fishmonger - this was the evening of Dear Hearts Birthday.
The following evening the three of us tucked into a mackerel which Para had managed to entice from the deep. He was unable to enjoy this meagre feast as his exertions appered to tire him

Did you have to show us that? And around tea time, as well!!

Could you not make the picture go all fuzzy over the central body area, like they do on the telly ?? Pixelate it, I think is the expression.

It's frustrating when you know all the answers, but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.

I felt the poor old sod had enough problems without pixelating him - anyway I don't think you can do that to an Ombusdsman

Good job casting is not a requirement when boat fishing - did anyone spot the quality fishing tackle above his head?

Whilst I'm slating your tackle - those floats look a bit on the big side too!

I always end up quite well pixelated after an afternoon on the G&T or an evening on the Jura, maybe it was the the good ship Claymore's hospitality that exhausted the poor wee man.

ta for mentioning the tackle an' no yon gallump's pixie stuff either. pretty basic stuff, eh? only a true fushermen could have pulled such a silver harvest with tackle like that ............... !!!

D'ye recall a conversation aboot that tackle ye fetched wi ye the time? If no ah'll hef tae refresh yer memry...

Jimi "Bye Para, thats an expensive piece o kit ye've got there in yon massive box is it no?"

Para "Jamesie ma wee shun, Ah'd like ye tae feast yer eyes oan this rod here - its the Purdey o' ra sea - jest like they guns - but better"

Some time later

Jimi "Para - hoos ra purdey gettin alang wi hoikin they fush oot fer oor supper - Claysie's ainly goat a feckin Cauli doon there an he's lookin like no allowing us tae gang ashore in Tobermory"

Para - "Bugger off - ah'm daein ma best but the oceans seem devoid o fushes the noo

Claymore "Para - ma daft eejit o a son-in-law tae be unless lightnin strikes favourably, seems tae be able tae pull em oot wi this wee red plastic jobbie an yin orange line - wid ye like tae try it?

Para's response is unprintable on the grounds that Kim wouldnae view it kindly and ah'm not sure how ye spell several o the words

I can see the meagre catch drying on deck, but where's the fearless fisherman? By the way, are you sure that it's a mackerel, the poor misshapen thing has every appearance of one of those ugly deep sea brutes? and I really don't like the look of that red and blue coloration.

Think I'll draw some little rabbits on my head, from a distance they might be mistaken for hairs.
