fishfinder problems

while i was fiting thia fish finder my 8 year old son was mesing about with it when i wasnt looking.
he put the home made power lead in to the transducer socket now it wil not give the corect reading ,is this repairable?if so is it possible to do myself if not how much roughly

The problem with my fishfinder is that it shows the fish but I still cant catch them *G*
