Anyone know these boats?
Inlaws have just had the first made for 15 years in steel - no other boat fitted the "sail around the World in slippers" brief!

Taken about three years to finish but it's finally done - quite a pretty thing it is - in a utilitarian motorsailor type way!

This was a few months ago before it was finished - now looks a bit tidier.

Currently in Holland (where it was made) but heading for the UK soon.

Bloody nice boat! Fisher 46 in steel, it´ll be bullet proof! I´ve always liked them. Got anymore piccies, I´d love to see some more.
I like the aft platform, saw a glass one with that arrangement on her.

She does look rather gorgeous for sure - and 'bullet proof' is probably a bit of an understatement ref her ability to cope with most groundings or other encounters....!

However she does look like she might be rather hot inside in the tropics - if your in-laws are going off round the world, it is probable that a significant part of their voyage will be in tropical latitudes (or are they dedicated high latitude sailors?).

I would also very much like to see some more photos please!

Hi All - Cheers for positive comments!

6mm steel for most of the hull and she weighs 29 tonnes so pretty bullet proof!!
Engine is a 180hp diesel with a (might get this wrong) Hundestat variable pitch prop.
Will ask about the heat factor - pretty sure it has powerful aircon but I'll ask.

Got an early interior pic - Will try and get some better pics soon - should be covered in the press once she gets to the UK.

There's a very nice older refitted one for sale at Mylor for £145k, I thought, and I thought, and then I decided to leave the money in Northern Rock. (Until last weekend that is).

Oh deffo a 46, I was foolish enough to take away the details and moon about over them for several days! Name: Flamingo Point, Year: 1979. Believed to be the 1980 Boat Show exhibit, hull no 5. Returned to Northshore in 1989 for a refit, new engine later in the 90's etc etc.

Apart from the awful name, smashing, and I thought very well priced.

Very good price for 46 in obviously good nick, would love the bigger rig and bowsprit!! But 56 feet would be the one for this boy! Schooner rigged even better!
