Fish finders

I would like to purchase a fish finder however there are so many on the market Im undecided which to buy , any comments would be helpfull. It is a toss up between Humminbird ,Garmin,Lowrance, &Eagle.

I can't speak for the rest, but I'm very happy with my Garmin 240.

I take it that you have read this months PBO survey on fishfinders? It is quite comprehensive and informative.

I second that, I have the Garmin 240 for over two years and mainly use it for Diving i.e. wreck finding and been very happy with the results. Before that on my previous boat I used the Eagle and again very happy with it's performance, however I feel the Eagles are now dated and expensive when comparing with others.
