Fish & Chips in Harwich

We are thinking of a family lunch trip to Halfpenny Pier (what a great facililty - it is the only reason we ever go to Harwich). Is there anywhere close to the Pier that you can get good quality fish and chips? The two Milsoms options in the Pier are a bit smarter than we need - which seems to leave the cafe on the Pier or one of the pubs around the back.....

There is a fish and chip shop in what passes for the High St. Don't think you can sit in though.

We've used the F&C chippy on the road towards town starting to the right of the old customs house - google map says its either Eastgate St or King's Head St. It's a 5minuite walk, F&Cs are good-OK, cant sit in but your boat is only 5 mins away.
Downstairs at Milsoms is not that smart; often been there directly from the boat. Upstairs at Milsoms is a bit smart & I've found it a bit quiet, almost dull when eating there.
