Fischer Panda starter motor?

I had 4.5kw generator fitted about 6 years ago. Have had trouble starting it over the last couple of months , I thought the starter battery was failing. Put new battery on and still won't start. I can here a slight clicking from inside the generator,thinking strarter motor. Could it be anything else.?

Just had a similar problem with my boat. I thought it was the starter solenoid or the battery, the mechanic claims it was the negative battery cut off switch that had failed. It was replaced, and, touch wood, so far he might be right

Mine had a solenoid on the negative. When I had a problem, I simply bypassed it. Might be worth checking on yours.
