Currently at Imperial Wharf, Colin the pier master is lovely and so helpful. It's our first trip into the tidal Thames. Imperial Wharf is a bit bumpy when the boats fly past plus the helicopters opposite can be a bit noisy but quite entertaining! Sat on the boat last night having a little drink in the warm air with a fabulous view.

Heading off soon down to the barrier and back into St Kats tonight.

Thanks to all the advice I got here before we went it has all been smooth so far!

Will post some pics....

Glad your enjoying your trip sulley.
I would like to do the same kind of trip but as yet my experience is too limited(as you may have noticed).
What amount of petrol do you think you have used or need in the total round trip? As one of our pontoon neighbours said they ran out of fuel on their trip to town and had to go to local petrol station.

We filled up when we left Windsor, I'm planning to top up again when we get back I'll post my fuel statistics etc then as the fuel guage is not the best!!

Currently in St Kats enjoying the sunshine, a glass of something cold and seeing all the people on their way home from work.

The river was very choppy today past Tower Bridge and was more like the sea  I thoroughly enjoyed it other half was very happy once we were in St Kats.

Hi Russ,

The last time I did the St. Kat's trip I filled up at Windsor, went into London then filled up at Sheperton on the return trip. My boat then was a 26ft sports cruiser with a 200hp petrol engine. The fill-up at Sheperton showed that I'd used 37 gallons.

Regards,

Mike

I will be good to get your full trip report Sulley. Being in the same position as yourself but with one very short trip on the tidal Thames 20 years ago in our Freeman 22...not to be repeated :-)

Now we have something with an engine with a bit more oomph I really want to make the trip but at this stage would feel comfier doing it in company (ooh-er missus!) with a more seasoned boater.

Glad you are enjoying it and look forward to your updates.
