Hurrah!
Well guys (and galls!) will be signing off after today for a few days as i am going to the new boat tomorrow to bring her home!
For some (well msot!) it would be classed as a short haul, but for me... it is the longest trip in a small boat i have ever done... let alone my own boat!
The itinerary is SWMBO will dirve crew and i down tomorrow for final bits and pieces to be stowed away and give us the chance to have a quick trip up and down the river. Overnight on board, in true "blokes roughing it style" and start Thursday with a good hearty bacon buttie! - sod the cholesterol!
Thursday will be fuel up and depart around 11.15 - 11.30 and catch the tides from Sheerness all the way up to Harwich.
Eta back home will be around 6pm and the have got friday off to start the real work... polishing and pottering!!!
The Charts are plotted, the tidal streams are considered (as best i can remember from the the Day skipper course!), the crew will be fully briefed about safety and where not to fall over as it will hurt or be very wet!
Auxillary engine fitted, tested and checked, engine fully serviced, checked and ready, Stern drive serviced, anodes replaced and ready. Fresh water system flushed through and clean... instruments checked and calibrated. Pumps, widgets and thingamybobs all seem to work too!
Sat down last weekend and wrote a list of things i gotta take, get and remember to sort out... it is huge... SWMBO thinks i am mad with some of the things i have written down... "pencil, Rubber..." but i says i got to plot... and i got to change it too!"
Must say i am as excited as a teenager on a first date and equally as anxious!
So, have fun over the next few days.. cos i know i will have a great time!
Cheers for now,
Craig.
