First day out of the office and it's peeing down :(

What have I done to offend the Gods?

For the last three weeks of record breaking heatwave I've been stuck in the office - late evenings and weekends. Today I get parole and have a boaty trip lined up. I awake to the sound of a monsoon hammering the roof!

You are not alone, the day we left Chiron it was glorious and it has been for 3 weeks since. We are setting off for another week away tonight, rain forecast for the W/E.

We left the office in October

It has done little but pee down since then..
Although the past two weeks has been sunny.

Mmm I know -I have been in my car every day since the end of March and had I traveled in a sort of straight line via the US I would now be somewhere in the Gibson Desert in Oz having passed NZ about three weeks ago.
As it is Sunday is the end until September and it looks like rain up here in NW Highlands but then again warm rain in the Inner Sound is not that bad.!

Well, as it turned out - a pretty damn good couple of days.

A bit rainy, gray and overcast to start off with yesterday but by the time we'd anchored at Priory Bay, it was blazing. It was my crew's first time sailing and I may have inadvertantly led them to believe that isolated sandy beaches, warm water and hot sun accompanied by F4/5 is typical of UK sailing - they seem to want to do it again.

Sorry to boast but we've just got back after 3 weeks sailing from Gosport to the CIs and then back to Pin Mill and we've had fab weather. Bit of rain but that was nearly all overnight
